Accessibility

We want everyone to feel welcome at A Plus Market. This is why we think about things like aisle width, all-gender bathrooms, and seating space.

Here are some things you can do to help make your stall space accessible:

  • Remember to leave space for wheelchair users and people with prams to easily turn around or reach your stock. Consider lifting any rummage bins up off the floor for easier access.

  • It’s handy to give people plenty of space to browse without feeling like they’re tripping over each other or your stock. So remember: less is more! Putting things out in batches throughout the day can help keep things fresh and roomy.

  • Try swapping out gender-specific language (‘ladies’, ‘girls’, ‘ladies and gentlemen’) for gender-inclusive language (‘people’, ‘babes’, ‘folks’, ‘team’).

  • If you have any concerns about accessibility in one of our venues on market day, head to the front desk and let us know - we’re great at problem-solving!
